for everyone
I tend to shy away from the AS lobby during election season, not wanting to be bombarded by all the terribly cheerful looking people, who all want to shake your hand, who all want to tell you their witty little catchphrase, and who all want you to vote for them for (insert position here). And don't forget their party mates! they will tell you while you are walking away a few minutes late for your next class (or so they think, haha).

But when bombarded, I always seem to enjoy being held up by someone running under Alyansa, or KAISA, mostly because they don't talk to me about tuition increase, or about the victory over the "resounding yes" vote during the referendum. Basically, they generally do not try to have an impromptu debate with me during my only break, and seem pleasant enough. AND they don't walk in and disturb you during a very crucial part of a chem 31 experiment. I think by now you know who I'm talking about.

Yes i do shrink away when they fill the stairways with their megaphone banter, and try not to look at them when they shout about mobilizations in the lobby. During the few times I get cornered and have to sit through a 15 minute conversation, I try not to get angry when the Stand UP person just wont accept that we have different viewpoints. They seem to have all the time in the world to "listen" to your side of the story (with the main objective of refuting your claims) And in the end they get you all worked up over the issue. But hey wait a minute, since when did that start being a bad thing?

Now don't get me wrong, I don't like Stand UP. I don't like the fact that they tend to oversimplify and exaggerate things to confuse and misinform a large chunk of the student body. I was annoyed at how they made people believe that voting No during the referendum would most certainly result in the total removal of the office of the student regent, and I am very offended by the racist tendencies of some of their more vocal members.

But if there is one thing I have to give them credit for, it would have to be their persistence. On my very first day of freshman year in the university, I remember clearly how members of Stand UP attacked the freshman orientation (if i remember clearly I was scared shitless). My first impression of them during that time has not changed in the two years I've spent here. Among the three major political parties, Stand UP is the only party that seems to be active the entire year, and not just during election time(EDIT: other parties like ALYANSA are more subdued-thanks carlo). And is it just me? Or do the Stand UP people speak really really well? As with the entire referendum issue, everyone knew the "YES" reasoning, but hardly anyone knew what the other side of the story was. Lets face it, Stand UP is the only political party you see going around, disturbing classes, making rude RACIST comments on the internet, attacking what they consider "elitist" organizations, generally pissing people off, but getting their point across, and sure as hell being remembered for it.

As for GPOAs, there will always be two sides of the story, and you can't ever really say that one party's GPOA is better than another's, when you look at achieving the greatest amount of good, because then you are bombarded with questions of what is considered "good". Democratic elections are hardly ever won by those who have the "best" platforms (because they all promise a certain amount of good), but they are won by people who will literally get in your face, if it will help you remember their name on election day. And until the other parties can come up with creative ways of being remembered, this year's election results may again bleed red.

for everyone
On March 19, 2006 we had a non-school sponsored Junior Prom. Part of the program would be picture taking, and we hired a photographer by the name of Kelvin Montalbo of Quanxi Communications, who was referred to us by some parents. Mr. Montalbo required me to pay him in full on the day of the event in the amount of Php 13,750, which I did and I have supporting documents to prove this.

In the months following the event, I was having a difficult time getting hold of Mr. Montalbo. It was not long after that I found out that he was working in Dubai, leaving the job behind. After a few months of trying to get hold of him, he told me he had passed on the job to his partners Frank Dizon and Erick Ngo of Imagineer Digital. It was equally as difficult to get a hold of his partners. I sent multiple emails, texts, and made many phone calls to their office and their personal cell lines. And only 2 months ago, did they finally answer me, saying that they were busy the past few weeks and that Mr. Montalbo also had other outstanding accounts with other clients with them. But in any case, they should have had the courtesy to reply to my messages. When finally we were in the printing stage, I discovered that their printer did not have the retouched soft copies of the pictures, their printer said they weren't given any copy. When I asked Mr. Dizon about this he assured me that he would have them ready by the following week at the latest.

But as of today, Mr. Dizon has not been replying to my emails and calls made to the Imagineer Digital office have again been unsuccessful as I was told he moved his office without giving prior notice. I have done all I can to try and contact him but he is not answering his phone or replying to my text messages and emails.

I am sorry that it has taken so long to release the pictures. I recognize that I made the decision to choose the photographer and because of this I had the pictures printed and I will shoulder the cost of the printing. I am sorry I trusted Mr. Montalbo, I only did so because he happens to be a parent at Jubilee. I was lucky enough to have a copy of the pictures with me, or else we would have lost the memories of out Junior Prom, and this is something that money cannot buy.

The pictures will be released on Big Batch Picture day, of which details are to follow

Thank you to Joanna Tan for being able to get the pictures printed in such a short amount of time.

Softcopies will be up shortly

for everyone
our tree got killed by milenyo last year and we are trying to locate a new one.

they have white and pink flowers, i have seeds and i was all investigatory project mode earlier labelling cups and stuff. part of my project apparently this semester is the revive the tree, but apparently when a tree gets hit by lightning, it never does actually recover(duh!), so start from zero.
